Fantasy Football Week 13 Starts and Sits

NFL Football - Starts and Sits

Don’t go crazy trying to make the playoffs.

What does that mean? That means don’t start a real longshot over the player you have used the whole season. The chances of a waiver-wire pickup catching 2 TDs aren’t nearly as good.

Do you know what to look for in young WRs to tell whether they have elite potential? Look at their hands. If they have decent speed and catch the ball with their hands, as opposed to their chest, they will have a better chance to be elite. Makes sense huh?

Oh yeah, don’t go crazy trying to make the playoffs.

Week 13 Starts

Riley CooperJeremy Maclin is hurt and DeSean Jackson is in the doghouse. Vince Young has to throw it to someone, right? Cooper caught a sweet 58 yard bomb in the first quarter, but didn’t see much thereafter. He is probably available to get him and start him.

Damian Williams – Newsflash: Buffalo isn’t very good.

Caleb Hanie – Kansas City has a soft defense, and I believe Hanie will be ok as a fill in for any of the star Quarterbacks currently on the mend. Johnny Knox is worth a start as well.

New England D/ST – Hello, Dan Orlovsky. This is the guy that willingly ran out of the back of the endzone while looking for a receiver. If you are a defense-matchup player, there you go. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Jonathan Stewart – In the past Panthers game, there were 3 rushing TDs: 1 to Cam Newton and 2 to DeAngelo Williams. In the three games prior, Stewart was the only one to get a goalline rush. The odds will even out.

Plaxico Burress – The Washington Defense is good, but not very tall. I’m betting on a TD here.

Michael Crabtree – Wide Receivers typically break out in their 3rd season. Crabtree missed his rookie training camp and several games. So, its-so-facto, his 3rd season begins now. Hmmmm.

Alex Smith – This is the type of game you start backups for.

Week 13 Sits

Arian Foster – I know. Telling you to bench Foster is like telling you to tell your boss, mother-in-law, and homeowner’s association president what you really think of them. However, Atlanta hasn’t allowed a 100 yard rusher all year, and with T.J. Yates at quarterback, they won’t be in a hurry to play zone. Foster will get plenty of work, but temper you expectations.

Steven Jackson – The 49ers have the #1 rush defense. That is enough to sit this stud, given that you have a replacement.

Toby Gerhart – He got a lucky touchdown because Percy Harvin scored but the Vikings didn’t challenge. This week the AP-less Vikings get the Tebow-inspired Broncos. Don’t rely on Gerhart if you need a win to get in the playoffs.

Michael Bush – The dude is a stud, and could be the starting running back on another team next year (keeper alert!). However, the Dolphins play pretty good defense at home.

Andy Dalton – Dalton has had a nice rookie season, but his tough division will limit his ceiling – for now.

Santanio Holmes – See Burress, Plaxico.

Larry FitzgeraldJerry Jones smells the playoffs. Luckily Rob Ryan controls the defense.

Matthew Stafford – He will throw lots of picks and some touchdowns. Too much up and down for my lineup.

Week 12 Results

Good Starts – Matt Moore (13), Laurent Robinson (19), Eric Decker (12), DeAngelo Williams (18), Jonathan Stewart (8), Donald Brown (15),

Bad Starts – Torrey Smith (2), Jerome Simpson (1), Nate Washington (1), Pierre Garcon (3), Ben Tate (2)

Good Sits – Michael Crabtree (5), Fred Jackson (before IR, I’m still giving myself credit!), Sidney Rice (0), Dwayne Bowe (6)

Bad Sits – Reggie Bush (9), Ryan Mathews (13), Toby Gerhart (11), Greg Little (12), Maurice Jones-Drew (15 – all yards)

As always, you can hit me or any of the Fantasy Daddy team on twitter. If you ask me a question at @FD_Bass, I will tell you why I pick a certain player. It is up to you whether it is logical or not.
