The Pick Up Artist is here to assist you in picking up players for the upcoming fantasy week that may be under the radar.

The majority of these articles have been placed in the archives.

The Fantasy Football Pick Up Artist - Week 16

NFL Football - Pick Up Artist

We have hit the final week of Fantasy Football and for the most part if you are in your League Championship you probably aren’t trolling the wire for week 16 pickups. It is possible though that you have Hakeem Nicks on your team and you’re worried about Revis Island this week or maybe your boy AJ Green is on your roster and you might need to find a last minute replacement for your starting lineup.  All League’s vary in roster size and number of teams so not all of these guys are available but if they are available in yours, they would be worthy of taking  a championship week spot start if you are hurting at a starting position.

Darrius Heyward- Bey- WR

Oakland is in a must win situation this week against Kansas City and Heyward-Bey could be a good replacement if it looks like AJ Green is out of the lineup this Saturday. DHB went off last week to the tune of 8 catches, 155 yards and a score.

Demaryius Thomas- WR

Tim Tebow has trouble hitting the most open of receivers it seems but he has developed chemistry with Demaryius Thomas over the last couple of weeks. He has turned in three solid games in a row and during that time he has accumulated 18 catches, 338 Yards and 3 TD’s. If you are in need for a wideout check your waiver wire for Tebow’s new favorite target.

Khalil Bell- RB

The Fantasy Football Pick Up Artist - Week 14

NFL Football - Pick Up Artist

Chargers_GirlsPickings are starting to get slim at this point.  Depth is the key as you make a stretch run.  The Forte injury opens things up for Barber.  A few wide receivers emerge and could be viable starting options down the stretch.  Keep in mind often times your starting roster in Week 16 is a shell of the team that got you there, so keep your head in the game and be ready to pounce on the waiver wire.

Quarterbacks

Alex Smith (Yahoo – 53%, ESPN 36%)

Smith is on the list once again for two reasons.  One, he’s been very consistent.  Two, quarterbacks are dropping like flies and with seven of his last eight games ending in double digit points, he’s worth grabbing if he’s still available.

Matt Moore (Yahoo – 20% , ESPN – 5.4%)

Moore is averaging over 14 points a game over the last six games and he is about to hit a very soft stretch in the schedule.  I’m not a huge fan, but with games against the Eagles, Bills, and Patriots, you should go get him.

Peyton Manning – A major reach, but if you have the depth to stash a guy like Manning, do it.

Running backs

This is the time of year you want to make sure you handcuff your studs.  HANDCUFF!

Quarterbacks

Alex Smith (Yahoo – 49%, ESPN 37%)

Don’t be alarmed by his start against the Ravens, his schedule is a cake walk.  Smith is on the list once again for two reasons.  One, he’s been very consistent.  Two, quarterbacks are dropping like flies and with six of his last seven games ending in double digit points, he’s worth grabbing if he’s still available.

Matt Moore (Yahoo – 14% , ESPN – 3.7%)

Moore is averaging 14 points a game over the last five games and he is about to hit a very soft stretch in the schedule.  I’m not a huge fan, but if you are in a deep league or have been hit by the injury bug, go get him.

Fantasy Football Pick Up Artist - Week 12

NFL Football - Pick Up Artist

Dolphins_CheerleaderHallelujah the bye weeks are done.  If you are reading this, you are either in a tight race to make the playoffs or you are fine tuning your team for a championship run.  Either way, we have lost the dead weight and are now only dealing with championship caliber fantasy players.  HELL YEAH!

Quarterbacks

Alex Smith (Yahoo – 48%, ESPN 34%)

Smith is on the list once again for two reasons.  One, he’s been very consistent.  Two, quarterbacks are dropping like flies and with six of his last seven games ending in double digit points, he’s worth grabbing if he’s still available.

Matt Moore (Yahoo – 9% , ESPN – 2.8%)

Moore is averaging 14 points a game over the last four games and he is about to hit a very soft stretch in the schedule.  I’m not a huge fan, but if you are in a deep league or have been hit by the injury bug, go get him.

Matt Leinart – (Yahoo – 10%, ESPN – 2%)

Matt Schaub is out for the season.  Leinart is not a great play, but if you pick your spots he may be serviceable.  If you have Schaub, you probably have a decent quarterback behind him, or he was your backup.

Fantasy Football Pick Up Artist - Week 11

NFL Football - Pick Up Artist

49ers_cheerleaderThe fantasy football waiver wire will once again come into play in week 11.  After having rosters wide open for week 10, we fall back in bye week for one last time in the 2011 season.

Byes:  Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans, and Pittsburgh

Quarterbacks

Alex Smith (Yahoo – 32%, ESPN 15%)

With starters going down this weekend, Smith is now an option.  Five of the last six weeks Smith has scored in double digits, he’s a solid start in week 11.  Smith has been on the Pick Up Artist plenty this season, this may be the week you need him.

Carson Palmer (Yahoo – 39%, ESPN 25%)

Why is Palmer still available in so many leagues?  Quarterbacks are in demand.  With that said, I would pick up Palmer even if you were set with one currently.

Matt Leinart – (Yahoo – 3%, ESPN – 0%)

Matt Schaub is out for the season.  Leinart is not a great play, but if you pick your spots he may be serviceable.  If you have Schaub, you probably have a decent quarterback behind him, or he was your backup.
