Fantasy Football Week 9 Injury Report

NFL Football - Injury Report

cartoon_ambulance

This was a relatively quiet day on the injury front with only a handful of players leaving their respective games with some type of ailment and the like. It only took until week 9 but for the first time this season there wasn’t a major injury to a top flight player. Miles Austin did re-injure his troublesome hamstring and most certainly will miss some time, but his owners are painfully getting use to old blue eyes and his re-aggravations.  Fantasy owners can breathe easy after Sunday’s games knowing that for the most part their team can continue licking old wounds and not have to deal with a whole new set of injuries.

Miles Austin- Hamstring- Austin got off to a quick start catching 2 balls for 53 yards before he was spotted on the sidelines being tended to by the trainers. It wasn’t until shortly after that he was deemed “Out” for the remainder of the game and one has to hope that his injury was of the mild variety. With the way Austin’s season has gone to date I am counting him out for week 10 but I will update his status when it becomes clear this week. According to reports Austin will be out anywhere from 2-4 weeks. This is a major blow to his owners but if your still in contention, he should be back for the fantasy playoffs.

Nate Washington- Hip- Washington suffered a hip pointer in his game on Sunday and did not return. He is the Titans number 1 receiver since Kenny Britt went down and for the sake of their passing game they will hope that Nate can suit up next week.

Dallas Clark- Leg- Clark left the game in the 2nd quarter with what is being called a leg injury. This is the fruit on the boring flan for a guy who has very limited upside without Peyton Manning playing this year. Clark was seen sporting a walking boot after Sunday's game.

Shonn Greene- Head- Greene left the Jets game with 5 minutes to play and did not return. The score and game was in control when he left so there is a possibility he just had his bell rung and he will be in fine shape for next week. We will have to wait for Rex Ryan’s presser on Monday for some news on the severity of the situation. Greene said that he passed all of his concussion tests, which is good news for his availability in week 10.

Notable Inactives

Peyton Hillis, Andre Johnson, Mark Ingram, Ahmed Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks, Darren McFadden, Ryan Matthews
