Week 6 Injury Report

NFL Football - Injury Report

I do not believe in curses.. but there is something to be said about the Madden cover boy year in and year out. This year’s culprit unless you have been living under a rock was Peyton Hillis. The White Rhino has missed a game due to illness and he left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. He is scheduled for an MRI Monday and Fantasy owners are going to have to hope he doesn’t miss any more time. His numbers haven’t been impressive at all this year and one has to wonder why they drafted him in the 2nd round of their respective drafts.

I had fun with him last year but I scored him off a couple of waiver wires early in the year. It really hurts to draft a guy so early a year after his break out season to find out that his season prior may have been an anomaly. You put that together with the fact he and his agent have been fishing for a new contract and you have a situation I am glad I avoided in Fantasy this season. There were bumps and bruises throughout the league this weekend so let’s break it down.

Peyton Hillis- Hamstring- Montario Hardesty is looking more appealing by the day & Hillis owners are going to have to hope that their rhino is as tough as his name. Check back later to see the results of his MRI on Monday. His status will be updated once there is a concrete diagnosis. Hillis did not practice Wednesday. Hillis is still not practicing on Friday. He looks to be OUT on Sunday. Make sure you have a backup plan in place.

Jason Campbell- Collar bone- JC has been balling for weeks now and just when he looked to finally be comfortable in a system he breaks his collar bone and is most likely out for the season.  If you were holding him as a bye week fill in or a plug and play feel free to drop him when the waiver wires open back up on Wednesday.

Felix Jones- Ankle- Jones has played through his separated shoulder but he has a chance to be lost for multiple weeks if it is true that he sustained an ankle sprain of the “high” variety. He was trying to be a tougher warrior this season but high ankle sprains are tricky and he is going to have to give it some rest. The Dallas beat writers have said that Jones will miss 2-4 weeks with his high nkle sprain.

Sam Bradford- Ankle- Bradford twisted his ankle on the last play of the game Sunday. Coach Spags reported Monday that Bradford suffered a high ankle sprain. He called him day to day but usually high ankle sprains cost a player some playing time. His status for week 7 is in doubt. Bradford isn't going to test his ankle until Friday, have other options ready to go.

Chris Cooley- Hand- Cooley smashed his hand on Sunday and is headed for surgery. This could be the final touch on a disappointing campaign for Cooley and his owners. Fred Davis is finally free to show us what he can do when he is the only Tight end in Washington getting targets.

Jahvid Best- Concussion- Best remained in the game for some carries after he hit the turf hard on Sunday but it appears he has suffered another concussion. Cross your fingers folks because he has a history of concussions and there is a chance he is going to miss some time. I will update Best’ status when more is known later in the week. Best is out on Sunday & is going to be evaluated "week to week".

Troy Polamalu- Concussion- Troy had concussion symptoms but he may have escaped a full concussion. Beat writer Bouchette said that Polamalu isn’t expected to miss any games. He might sit a practice or two but he should be a go next week. Polamalu passed his concussion tests and is a green light for Sunday.
