Fantasy football owners have all hands on deck this week, as Week 10 brings a one-week break from bye weeks. Also of note this week is the first Thursday night game since Week 1, setting the table for Thursday night games over the rest of the season.

Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers- Mendenhall had 13 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, as he saw exactly 13 carries for the third straight game as the Steelers have relied on the passing game much more than usual during that span. Overall Mendenhall has had a disappointing season on the heels of his 2010 campaign (1,273 yards, 13 touchdowns), with just one 100-yard game and four touchdowns to this point. Things may not turn around immediately in Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have the league's second-ranked rush defense, and the Steelers have a bye in Week 11. But after that, some favorable matchups are coming against the Kansas City Chiefs (Week 12), Cleveland Browns (Week 14 and Week 17) and the St. Louis Rams (Week 16). All three teams currently sit in the bottom half of the league against the run and weather could be a factor and lead to a big workload for Mendenhall in some or all of those games. Fantasy owners may be down on Mendenhall right now, which creates a buying opportunity for those in need of a running back.
DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles- Jackson had just two receptions for 16 yards against the Chicago Bears on Monday night, and now has three catches or less in three straight games and five of eight games overall this season. He has a dismal season to this point, with just 29 receptions and two touchdowns, but does get a very favorable matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10. The Cardinals have allowed 24.4 fantasy points per game (ESPN scoring) to opposing wide receivers), and just allowed 21 receptions for 236 yards to the St. Louis Rams' wide receivers in Week 9. There should be big-play opportunities for the Eagles' passing game this Sunday, and that is where Jackson excels. After this week, more favorable matchups are coming against the New York Giants, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins from Week 11-Week 14. Consistent production may be an issue at times, but Jackson's talent and potential alone makes him a nice buy-low target for owners in search of a wide receiver for a run to the fantasy playoffs.
Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears- Cutler had an efficient performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, as he went 18-for-32 for 208 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He has thrown just two interceptions over his last four games, and both came in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Week 10 brings a fairly tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, but after that the schedule gets easier over the rest of the season, including matchups with the Oakland Raiders (Week 12), Denver Broncos (Week 14) and Seattle Seahawks (Week 15). If weather is not a factor, Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers also looks favorable for Cutler. His numbers may not be huge if the Bears continue to use running back Matt Forte heavily, but fantasy owners can do a lot worse than Cutler down the stretch as his upside is good with some favorable matchups and if he can continue to minimize turnovers there is not a lot of downside either.

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers- Roethlisberger went 20-for-37 for 330 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, as he has now passed for over 300 yards in three straight games and has 12 touchdown passes and three interceptions over his past five games. The Steelers' Week 10 opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals, has the NFL's 10th-ranked pass defense, so making it four straight 300-yard games will be a challenge for Roethlisberger. As weather becomes a factor late in the season, it can be assumed the Steelers will at least attempt to re-emphasize the running game and that stands to limit the upside potential of the passing game and thus keep a lid on Roethlisberger's numbers. Those that have benefited from his recent hot streak and have some potential holes elsewhere on their roster should consider trying to deal "Big Ben" while his value is at it's peak.
Reggie Bush, RB, Miami Dolphins- Bush had 13 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown along with three catches for 50 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, and now has 28 carries for 195 yards over the past two weeks as Daniel Thomas continues to deal with a lingering hamstring issue. If Thomas ever can get healthy, he may be in line for a significant role and Bush may then be rendered to his more customary role as a third-down back. For now though, Bush may get significant work for a couple more weeks and some favorable matchups against the Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills in Week 10 and Week 11 are coming. Fantasy football owners have become accustomed to inconsistent production from the former Heisman Trophy winner, so right now, or at least very soon, may be the time to dangle him in trade talks before his value drops.
Pierre Thomas, RB, New Orleans Saints- Thomas had eight carries for 66 yards and a touchdown with four receptions for 25 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, and he has now scored in back-to-back games. The absence of Mark Ingram (heel) has certainly helped his production, as he has 146 rushing yards and 13 receptions over the last three games since Ingram was injured against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7. That said, running back Chris Ivory had 15 carries for 67 yards in Week 9 as he returned to full action after missing the early part of the season with a foot injury. The Saints have a talented group of running backs, with Darren Sproles also a factor, so even with Ingram's status still up in the air playing time and touches are likely to be fairly inconsistent for all involved. Thomas has proven to be productive when healthy and given the opportunity during his career, but his fantasy value may only go down from here on out.
