With Week 8 now upon us, fantasy football owners now know how their teams look, for better or worse. There is still time to improve a roster that has yielded a poor record, or possibly derail a good roster with a few less than shrewd moves. Here is this week's edition of "Buy And Sell" here at Fantasy Daddy.com

Josh Freeman, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Freeman threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns against the Chicago Bears in Week 7, but also threw four interceptions in the game. He has been a disappointment to fantasy owners who expected another step forward this year after a promising 2010 campaign, but he has already thrown 10 interceptions in seven games. That said, he has throw multiple touchdowns in each of his past two games and will get another matchup with the New Orleans Saints in Week 9 after Tampa Bay's Week 8 bye. In Week 7 against the Saints, Freeman threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. After that a few more potentially favorable matchups are coming in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans and Week 13 against the Carolina Panthers. Freeman's running abilility also enhances his fantasy potential, and there is definitely a buying opportunity here for those in need of a quarterback with better upside than he has shown to this point.
Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers- Stewart had 14 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Redskins last week, as he found the end zone for the second straight game while also putting up more yardage than backfield mate DeAngelo Williams. With the amount of money the team gave Williams this past offseason he will still get a fair amount of carries, but it can be argued Stewart is the better player. Four of the Panthers next five opponents rank in the bottom half of the league in terms of fantasy points allowed to running backs (ESPN scoring), so even with a carry split Stewart could be fairly productive going forward. There is some downside here due to the timeshare situation, but Stewart does have some upside and could be a very viable starting option as a flex player over the next few weeks with the upside to be more than that.
Joe Flacco, QB, Baltimore Ravens- Flacco had a dismal (to say the least) outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7, going 21-for-38 for 137 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the game. He has alternated productive games with bad games all season, meaning he is due for a solid performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8. The Cardinals have allowed 18.7 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks (ESPN scoring-tied for fourth-most in the league). After that things get a little tougher starting with Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road before another favorable looking matchup against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14. Fantasy owners should not consider Flacco a top tier option now or down the road, but those looking for a solid backup that could be startable this week may want to try and make a trade for him.
Sell
Plaxico Burress, WR, New York Jets- Burress had four receptions for 25 yards and three touchdowns against the San Diego Chargers in Week 7, as he scored for the first time since Week 3 and tied his season high for catches in a game. Obviously it is hard to repeat a three touchdown performance, and the overall inconsistency of the Jets' offense limits the fantasy production of everyone on week-to-week basis. Fantasy owners that drafted Burress and hung onto him through a stretch of poor games may be able to take advantage of an opportunity to "sell high" based on last week to an owners in need of a wide receiver and bolster their roster depth in other spots.
Brandon Marshall, WR, Miami Dolphins- Marshall had six catches for 61 yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 7, which matched his catch total from Week 6 and gave him at least five receptions in five of six games this season. But the Dolphins are going through quarterbacks like water as Matt Moore came out of last week with bruised ribs. Recently signed J.P. Losman would take over as the starter if Moore can't go this week, which is not good news for Marshall even in a favorable matchup against the New York Giants. Marshall is talented enough to be productive no matter who is under center for the Dolphins, but there is a lot of downside potential as well. If you own Marshall, now may be the best time to attempt to trade him if you have holes elsewhere on your roster. His production, and thus his fantasy value, may only go down in the coming weeks.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, New York Giants- Bradshaw went into the Giants' bye week on a high note with 26 carries for 104 yards and three touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 with Brandon Jacobs (knee) out for the second straight game. The bye week seems to have allowed Jacobs to get healthy, as he returned to practice on Monday, so a fairly equal carry split could be coming again starting in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins. That does assume Jacobs is close to 100 percent by Sunday and stays that way down the road, which is not a given with his injury history and physical running style. Fantasy owners can't be blamed for hanging onto Bradshaw, but right now his trade value is likely to be at it's peak for those who need reinforcements elsewhere.
