As a Fantasy Football owner you spend weeks in preparation, reading books, checking websites participating in mock drafts. All of this to put together a team that you feel can project into the highest scoring team. You see Michael Turner, Chris Johnson, Andre Johnson picked in the first round, while you watch guys like Roddy White slide.
You have your strategy, you know who your sleepers are and you are prepared for success. All of this preparation that will culminate in an intense hour of online smack talking, cheat sheet searching and busted strategy. If you are lucky enough to have a local league you spend an entire night eating, drinking, talking, yelling, debating, mocking and doing your best to make other feel uncomfortable before and during the draft.
Week by Week you scan the waiver wire, you check the blogs, you ask Fantasy Daddy. You do what you can to give your Fantasy Football team the best chance to win. Making timely pick ups, offering and countering trades. It’s a long season and here we are at the half way point.
With that said I give you my mid season ALL-DADDY Team, my list of top performers from the first half of the 2010 fantasy football season.
QB- Philip Rivers (ADP 34)
Rivers has benefited from the Chargers woes as a team. Playing from behind because of problems with turnovers and special teams, Rivers has stepped up and kept the Chargers and fantasy teams in games this season.
- Six games of two or more touchdowns
- Thrown at least one touchdown in every game this season
- All eight games of over 240 yards
- Leads the NFL in passing yards
- Double digit fantasy points every week
HB – Adrian Peterson (ADP 2)
Selected second in most drafts Peterson has performed at an exceptional level, carrying the Vikings offense as well as fantasy teams.
- Over 100 total yards in seven of eight games
- Six touchdowns in seven games
- Scored in double digits six of seven games
- Four games with over 20 points
HB – Arian Foster (ADP 49)
Foster soared up draft boards late, but has been a big play running back for fantasy owners. Starting off with a bang against the Colts, Foster has come back to earth, but is still producing respectable numbers. Fosters only down fall is his consistency, but his monster games alone have carried teams to victory this season.
- Scored 20 of more points three of six games, with a high of 41
- Double digit point totals in five of six games
- Six touchdowns in six games
WR – Roddy White (ADP 24)
White came as advertised in 2010. With Matt Ryan coming into his own, Roddy White has been a model of consistency week in and week out
- Leads the league in targets, receptions and yards
- Double digit points in six of seven games
- At least eight or more points in every week
- Five TD’s in seven games
WR – Hakeem Nicks (ADP 76)
Coming off a solid rookie season, Nicks has come into his own in 2010. With a healthy Eli Manning and Steve Smith keeping teams honest, Nicks has been a big play receiver for fantasy owners the first half of the season.
- Eight TD’s in seven games
- Three games of 20 plus points scored
- Three games with two of more touchdowns scored
TE – Antonio Gates (ADP 44)
Gates has been all-world this season, not only leading tight ends, but outscoring wide receivers as well. After having his ankle rolled twice and re-aggravating a toe injury from two years ago, Gates bounced back in week seven with another double digit performance.
- Nine touchdowns in eight games
- Seven games with at least one touchdown
- Double digit points in seven of eight games
Defense – Tennessee Titans
The opportunistic Titans have done a great job providing consistency for fantasy owners. Not an easy thing to do for a fantasy defense, especially when you consider they have put up double digit points against high flying offenses such as the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles.
- Double digit points in six of eight games
- Created a league high 19 turnovers this season
Kicker – Sebastian Janikowski
I’m a believer that kickers receiver too many points in fantasy football, that aside Janikowski is proving to be quite a weapon for a team that struggles to get into the end zone at times.
- Six double digits performances in eight games
- Scored at least six points in each week this season.
- Has kicked a field goal over 40 yards or more in five of his eight games this season.
2nd Team
QB – Aaron Rodgers
HB – Chris Johnson
HB – Frank Gore
WR – Brandon Lloyd
WR – Calvin Johnson
TE – Vernon Davis
DEF – Pittsburgh Steelers
K – Rob Bironas
3rd Team
QB – Peyton Manning
HB – Darren McFadden
HB – LeSean McCoy
WR – Jeremy Maclin
WR – Terrell Owens
TE – Jason Witten
DEF – Chicago Bears
K – Dan Carpenter
