The Pick Up Artist - Week 17

Baseball - Pick Up Artist

Catcher  - Johnathan Lucroy (Brewers)

Lucroy has gone 7 for 17 (.412) with three RBI over his last four games. He has seven homers and 39 RBI with a 284 batting average on the year, which gives him plenty of Fantasy value. Lucroy has power potential hitting over 20 homers in one season while in minor leagues. Good as a backup catcher in standard mixed leagues and a starter in deeper. Owned in 38 percent of leagues.

The Pick Up Artist - Week 15 & 16

Baseball - Pick Up Artist

Catcher

Carlos Ruiz (Phillies) - Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the veteran's progress going forward, with him steamrolling into the All-Star break. Ruiz is a considerably better hitter in the second half of the season over his career, with an average 32 points better (.245-.277) with upped power numbers as well after the break. He is worth picking up as a back up to an underperforming catcher you might have right now. He is available in 77% of leagues.

The Pick-Up Artist - Week 8

Baseball - Pick Up Artist

Here is a look at the guys you want to pick-up for Week 8 of the Fantasy Baseball Season!!

Catcher

J. P. Arencebia (Blue Jays) - Arencibia has recorded at least two hits in four of his last seven games and has seen his average increase from .220 May 13 to .252 after Monday's performance. He continues to put up good production numbers as he now has eight home runs and 23 RBI overall. While the 25-year-old continues to struggle with his average, the fact that he is showing some solid pop in his bat as well as getting everyday starts behind the plate, makes him worth a look. He is available in 62% percent of leagues.

The Pick-Up Artist - Week 4

Baseball - Pick Up Artist

Catcher

Alex Avila (Tigers) - Avila is seeing most of the catching duties with Victor Martinez on the disabled list with a strained right groin. Avila is batting .292 with three homers and 11 RBI over 48 at-bats this year. Even when V-Mart comes back Avila should remain as the catcher as V-Mart goes to the DH spot. He is available in 61% of leagues.
