The Good-

In the NL Freddie Freeman takes the top spot. Freeman batted .367 this week with 3 home runs and 10 RBI. Freeman seems to be showing no signs of slowing down and has become a legitimate power threat at 1B.

Honorable mention for Carlos Gonzalez again.. CarGo continues his torrid space from last week as he continued slugging 3 HR’s, driving in 9 and also netting one stolen base. Something tells me CarGo wants top billing.

In the AL it is impossible not to look at Jered Weaver. One of the few bright spots in a season that is slipping away from the Angels.. Weaver tossed his first no hitter, striking out 9 and posting a miniscule ..11 WHIP.

Honorable mention goes to Felix Hernandez.. King Felix went for 1win in his two starts this week  pitching 16 innings striking out 18, and posting a ridiculous 0.56 ERA and 0.75 WHIP

The Good-

In the NL someone not named Matt Kemp ascends to the top. Jay Bruce gets top billing this week with a 4 HR 10 RBI week. Bruce also stole two bases and his .476 avg paired with his 1.685 OPS makes him the clear choice.

Honorable mention for Jose Altuve and Carlos Gonzalez. Altuve scorched the ball this week batting .481 with 1 HR and 4 RBI as well as adding 2 SB’s. CarGo must have read my G,B &U from last week as he erupted this week slugging 4 HR’s, driving in 11 and also netting two stolen bases.

In the AL it is impossible not to look at Jake Peavy. Peavy tossed two complete games, striking out 12 and posting a miniscule .50 ERA and .56 WHIP. Is Peavy returning to form? For those who own him there is a lot of hope.

Honorable mention goes to David Price. Price went for 2 wins and 1 CG while striking out 12 and posting a 1.17 ERA a .85 WHIP.

The Good, Bad And Ugly - Week of 4/23

Baseball - Good, Bad, and Ugly

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

The Good-

In the NL it is no surprise Matt Kemp would have to be at the top of the list. Kemp hit a cool .500 this week adding 4 dingers and 7 RBI to his league leading totals. He also added 11 runs. If there is any “chink” in the armor, he had no stolen bases making that 50-50 prediction in jeopardy. He is clearly at the top of his game.

Honorable mention for Freddie Freeman. He hit .400 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI- so much for the knock that he would not be more than a 20 HR guy.

In the AL Mike Napoli leads the list. After a slow start Napoli erupted this week for 6 HR and 11 RBI to go with his .417 avg. Catcher eligibility and  playing first on his off days makes him a hot commodity.

Honorable mention for Mark Teixeira. Teixeira bounced back from a slow start to hit .407 this week with 3 home runs and 10 RBI. (2 HR’s and 6 RBI in the monster comeback the Yanks had on the Sox)
